2 Layouts to share

The last time I shared on my blog was March 13 -- so I think I am due! So many crazy things have been happening lately -- AGAIN! I can't seem to get out of the rain and thunder, but I have a feeling my rainbow and sunshine are coming soon! I am praying for that anyways!

Here are two layouts that have been waiting to be shared for awhile!

This layout was made with a cut file made by Paige Evans for Studio Calico. I loved it and HAD to get it! I used the Amy Tan Plus One collection!

A layout from my best friend's wedding! I used a Cameo cut file for the hearts and the "mr. & mrs." and did lots of heat embossing and ink splattering!

Thanks for stopping by! Its my Saturday off and I am going to go scrapbook!

Please send good thoughts and prayers my way!  I lost my job almost 2 weeks ago and last week I had to interviews for the same place and I go back on Monday to chat with someone else about it as well. I am SO excited that this is the job for me! :) Thanks!

Love Love Love Love

Another "me" themed layout with things about me this month (er well, last month)! I am doing the monthly "me" themed layouts with inspiration from Corrie Jones. I've said it before and will never stop saying it -- she is my scrapbooking idol! She just put up an amazing layout today for Crate Paper. Swoon!

I found a random photo I took of myself at work last month when my niece wanted to Facetime with me, but I wasn't able to. I used Studio Calico's Print Shop collection and the fun new cut files from TwoPeas and went to work! I really wanted to do a black background and have the whites and other subtle colors pop. I did 6 facts about me right now. I feel like they are always the same!

You + Me = Love

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend (even though it is already Wednesday evening now)! I worked all weekend and Monday and Tuesday so today felt like the first day after the weekend! :)

I finished this layout last week. It was actually just a quick one that I threw together. The longest part was cutting out the files on my Cameo and gluing them down! They got sticky!

I used a cut file from my Cameo and cut them all out on white cardstock and used different red and pink gelatos to water color them. I had some left over white hearts from another project that I added. The cards were from the Simple Stories 4x6 pack and I used a few tags from Elle's Studio, added some enamel dots, and some misting!

This one had a lot less layers than I normally do, but it is still really my style!

Thanks for checking it out!

Bundled Baby

I am back today to upload a layout before I head off to work for the evening! So my hopes and wishes ended up caving in. I have decided that I am better off just scrapbooking for myself. I think that I get my hopes up way too high to think I can design for someone. Plus, I have heard of so many designers becoming burnt out and I don't want that to happen to me. I love to scrapbook and I am good enough for me!

So back to my layout! This layout is inspired by a layout done by Paige Evans, another scrapbooker whom I admire. I just love what she does with patterned paper.

I used the Studio Calico Magical collection again and just went ahead cutting strips of the patterned paper and then adhering the to my layout. I put some paper layers behind the photo, did some outlining, and added only a few embellishments to this layout. It really didn't need anything more!

I embossed those old snowflake wood veneers that I found in my stash with white opaque embossing powder, cut "baby" from my Cameo from a phrase that said "baby love," added some journaling, and black mist drops!

I love this font of thickers and if you look closely.... well, that really isn't the "e" that comes with the pack! It is actually a "c!" I love making things work! Thanks for checking out my layout and for the great comments you have all been leaving lately. I love it and it really means a lot to me, especially on the last post which was a tough one! I am so thankful to have such wonderful scrappy friends! :)

From Happiness to Heartbreak

This layout was extremely hard for me to do. The design was easy, but the courage it took to write down my feelings was very hard. I wanted to make a design in which I had a lot of room for journaling and thought that a heart that was going off the page would be perfect. A heart because it symbolizes love and the sunburst that shows that even though going through this rough time, the sun is still shining in our lives.

I used teal, black, white, and gray for my color scheme and I love it! I cut the heart out with my cameo and made the lines for where I wanted the sunburst pieces to go. Then I traced them onto the patterned paper I wanted to use and then glued it all down to a piece of cardstock! I sewed around the heart with black floss to emphasize it. I found some gray and black scraps of paper and layered the beneath my photo along with an Elle's Studio tag and washi tape. For the title I used the new alphas from Elle's Studio and some older ones from Jenni Bowlin.

I stamped an embossed a heart from the new Elle's Studio Love You More stamp set and used an arrow paper clip to point towards the title.

I used two of the die cuts from the Studio Calico Print Shop collection.

Thanks for looking and for your comments. This page means a lot to me and I am glad that I did it. I am back to work tomorrow!

Keep me in your Heart

Good morning! Today I am sharing a layout that I created using a sketch from Elle's Studio. I kept the basic concept of the sketch, but kind of went off on my own as well.

I used quite a few elements from the Elle's Studio Love You More collection including two stamps and the frame, note card, word snippets, and teal heart. Oh! And their new alphas! I keep forgetting about those. I used papers from the Pebbles and Crate Paper Valentine's lines. I cut the background paper (Amy Tan) with my Silhouette to be able to layer the hearts underneath the paper and then pop some up on top of the paper with pop dots.

The title comes from that little Pooh quote - "If ever there comes a day that we're not together, keep me in your heart and I will stay there forever." I absolutely love it. I love those pink Thickers too -- and they come with HEARTS! Very cool.

I found some embroidery floss and ripped it all apart to make a cluster underneath one of the Elle's tags and threw some enamel dots in there as well. I still had those Pink Paislee mistable hearts sitting out from my last project so I found a place for it on this layout too! Great way to use up my stash.

I added another embroidery floss, tag, and enamel dot cluster and outlined the entire page with my black marker, as well as used the neat heart/arrow stamp from Elle's Studio on each side of page. Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Capture Hope

One of my greatest scrapbooking designers is by far Corrie Jones. Her work is beyond awesome. Each month she completes a layout about herself and what she is feeling. This month I wanted to do the same. Better this month than any of the previous 5! :)

I had fun with this layout and actually completed it pretty quickly. I started with the star background that I cut with my Cameo. The cut file came from the Silhouette store. I used all Studio Calico Print Shop papers for this layout and didn't want to use one of the the 12x12 sheets as the full background so I went to my old stash of DCWV paper pads and found one that matched. I really need to dig into those more often! I am even thinking about using the back of some of them, which is white, to get using them!

I put different papers from the 6x6 pad behind all of the different sized stars. I layered the leftover pieces behind my photo and found the black and white word paper and used my exacto knife to cut out the word "capture" from the paper. I wrote 5 different facts/feelings about me right now and added some other fun embellishments such as Freckled Fawn stars, new stamps from Elle's Studio, sequins, and those older mistable hearts from Pink Paislee.

I am loving the new "Love You More" stamp set by Elle's Studio!

Thanks for checking out my layout and your comments. Have a wonderful day!

Glow of Christmas

Here I am with a fun Christmas layout featuring photos of my darling niece and a sketch from My Scraps and More.

I didn't like how stark white plain the background was with all of the photos and layers focused towards the bottom, so I added all of the watercolor marks using my red and gold gelatos! I love how it turned out. I used papers from the Studio Calico Christmas line, which I fell in love with right away (and I normally don't like their Christmas lines). I finally opened up the Maggie Holmes overlay frames and used two of them on this page. They have been sitting in my stash for TOO LONG!

I cut my title using my Silhouette Cameo. I originally just had the one layer of the gray, but it was blending in too much so I added the red background to it to make it stick out more. I LOVE those wood veneer stars from Studio Calico and embossed them with gold embossing powder.

I added some sequins and washi tape to finish it off! I also used a roller date stamp for the current challenge at Scrapbook Circle. Something I use all the time!

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Love you Dad

Happy Thursday! This week went by so fast. I am back today to share a layout I made using GELATOS! I went to Michael's a couple weeks ago and picked up a big pack of them. I can't wait to start using them more often.

For this layout I covered a piece of white cardstock with three different colors of gelatos and added water to make the water color effect. I used another sheet of white cardstock and my Cameo to make a fun die cut background - something I want to start doing more of!

I got good use out of the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes line and put together these photos of my dad and I walking down the aisle. So special to me. I found that "dad" die cut and thought it would be perfect as my title and coordinate well with the "love" in the die cut background.

Well, I did something pretty exciting today and I hope it brings back good news for me! I have been wishing and hoping for this for a long time. Annnnd... since 2014 is GOING to be good for me.. I am going to wish and hope for good news! :) Have a great day!

Handsome Groomsmen

Here is a layout from my wedding album with one of my favorite photos of the guys! They just look so good-looking and tough!

There isn't much to this layout, but it was a fun one to make! I took the photo from a Shutterfly book that came ruined with ink inside and matted it on some Echo Park Paper. I tore the edges of a white piece of cardstock and added it to an old piece of Pink Paislee paper. I did some outlining and found some old Thickers that had just the right letter left over! I googled a cool font to cut on my Cameo and added the fun stars! Thanks for looking!

Sisters

Just poppin' in to upload a layout that I completed of my sister and I.

I used the Amy Tan Sketchbook line and put my Cameo to work to cut out a bunch of hearts! I kept the embellishing pretty simple since the hearts provided such a great background and I didn't even layer a bunch of papers underneath the photo!

It was a great way to use my 6x6 paper pad! Thanks for looking!

Every Single Moment With You

Happy Weekend! I am pretty excited for tonight. My husband turns 30 next week (bummer) and I am throwing him a big 30th birthday party tonight! Complete with a DJ, food, and beer! Yay!

I am also excited because last night I finished our wedding albums! We got married on 9/22/12. I'm not too far off, am I? :)

Here is a pretty simple, but pretty layout that I made using the photo of him after he saw me for the first time on our wedding day. I love that background woodgrain paper from the original Maggie Holmes collection. I used a lot of woodgrain elements and through in some pops of color. Thanks for looking and your great comments.

No Place that Far

In the process of finishing up my wedding albums, the last back page of the album was empty and I just couldn't bring myself to leave it that way. I decided I would do a large photo of my husband and I and write him a little [love] note.

This page really isn't about design as it is about saying thank you to my husband and telling him how much I love him and how important and amazing our wedding day was.

I cut the title from my Cameo. It is from the song "No Place that Far" by Sara Evans which was sang during our ceremony by my cousins. Now when I hear that song, it will never be as good as when my cousins sang it. :)

Thanks for checking it out! :) Have a great day!

New Little Sister - Elle's Studio Sketch

Here I am today with a layout based on a sketch from Elle's Studio! I am so happy to be playing along with sketches and making layouts again! Right now I am on medical leave, but will start back at the hospital on February 1. I am happy that I will be able to continue to do what I love!

I used my favorite Dear Lizzy collection, Lucky Charm. I've been into using older collections. What normally happens is I use a collection for a little bit and then after that the papers just sit there.. not OK! It gives me so much satisfaction to use stuff up!

The sketch called for some triangles, but I wasn't really feeling that so I used wood veneer little chevron type arrow things! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Wedding Pages Project Life Style

I have been super busy working on finishing up our wedding albums and doing some layouts for some design team calls. I am almost finished with our wedding albums and hope to [will] have them finished by my husband's 30th birthday party this Saturday.

Many of the pages (since there are so many pictures) I have completed using the divided pocket pages and it has worked out so well to compliment my 12x12 layouts! There are many to share! Check back for more tomorrow. Thanks for looking and all of your great comments!

Layouts to share

I have a few layouts to share that I have done over the past month. I also wanted to thank all of you for your wonderful prayers and thoughts. I appreciate them so much. The school board approved my resignation on Monday night and as of next Friday, I will be done with this job. I am so excited. I am so ready to get back to how life used to be. It will be hard to work weekends and holidays again, but I would way rather do that than go through what I am right now. THANK YOU. :)

I made this first layout about a month ago when I scrapbooked with my mom and aunt. I used a credit card and paint to make those fun lines. I love that Crate Paper line [that I bought last summer and finally got to use]!

Another layout that I did that weekend. I only made two layouts. My mom could tell that I wasn't happy -- I didn't even want to scrapbook! I love those Crate frames!

This photo is from my best friend's wedding at the end of October. I love this big Silhouette cut and thought it would be cute as a background.

I just did this layout last weekend based on a sketch from Elle's Studio, but of course I didn't get it uploaded in time for the contest. Ugh. I love this cute Crate holiday line.  I wish I would have bought more of the embellies.

I am so excited to get back to scrapbooking. I am so excited to be happy again. I have faith that 2014 will be a good year for us. :) Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers! :)
