Keep me in your Heart

Good morning! Today I am sharing a layout that I created using a sketch from Elle's Studio. I kept the basic concept of the sketch, but kind of went off on my own as well.

I used quite a few elements from the Elle's Studio Love You More collection including two stamps and the frame, note card, word snippets, and teal heart. Oh! And their new alphas! I keep forgetting about those. I used papers from the Pebbles and Crate Paper Valentine's lines. I cut the background paper (Amy Tan) with my Silhouette to be able to layer the hearts underneath the paper and then pop some up on top of the paper with pop dots.

The title comes from that little Pooh quote - "If ever there comes a day that we're not together, keep me in your heart and I will stay there forever." I absolutely love it. I love those pink Thickers too -- and they come with HEARTS! Very cool.

I found some embroidery floss and ripped it all apart to make a cluster underneath one of the Elle's tags and threw some enamel dots in there as well. I still had those Pink Paislee mistable hearts sitting out from my last project so I found a place for it on this layout too! Great way to use up my stash.

I added another embroidery floss, tag, and enamel dot cluster and outlined the entire page with my black marker, as well as used the neat heart/arrow stamp from Elle's Studio on each side of page. Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Here is the sketch:

Capture Hope

One of my greatest scrapbooking designers is by far Corrie Jones. Her work is beyond awesome. Each month she completes a layout about herself and what she is feeling. This month I wanted to do the same. Better this month than any of the previous 5! :)

I had fun with this layout and actually completed it pretty quickly. I started with the star background that I cut with my Cameo. The cut file came from the Silhouette store. I used all Studio Calico Print Shop papers for this layout and didn't want to use one of the the 12x12 sheets as the full background so I went to my old stash of DCWV paper pads and found one that matched. I really need to dig into those more often! I am even thinking about using the back of some of them, which is white, to get using them!

I put different papers from the 6x6 pad behind all of the different sized stars. I layered the leftover pieces behind my photo and found the black and white word paper and used my exacto knife to cut out the word "capture" from the paper. I wrote 5 different facts/feelings about me right now and added some other fun embellishments such as Freckled Fawn stars, new stamps from Elle's Studio, sequins, and those older mistable hearts from Pink Paislee.

I am loving the new "Love You More" stamp set by Elle's Studio!

Thanks for checking out my layout and your comments. Have a wonderful day!

Handsome Groomsmen

Here is a layout from my wedding album with one of my favorite photos of the guys! They just look so good-looking and tough!

There isn't much to this layout, but it was a fun one to make! I took the photo from a Shutterfly book that came ruined with ink inside and matted it on some Echo Park Paper. I tore the edges of a white piece of cardstock and added it to an old piece of Pink Paislee paper. I did some outlining and found some old Thickers that had just the right letter left over! I googled a cool font to cut on my Cameo and added the fun stars! Thanks for looking!

Two Layouts to Share

I am back! It has been a few days since I have posted. I worked my weekend this past weekend where I work 9a to 9:30p Fri - Sun and I have worked each day since as well, so I have not had much time! :( I have tomorrow off, so I am excited about that!

I have two layouts to share today. The first is a photo of my cousin and I from my wedding. I took a photo with each of my bridesmaids like this so I am going to scrap each one so that I have each one in my scrapbook! I used the April Scrapbook kit and played along with the challenge, Springtime Hues. It sure wasn't hard with the kit!

Here are some close ups:

I filled the Amy Tan die cut with MME enamel dots and added some Echo Park stickers. The smaller letters in the title are Studio Calico and October Afternoon. Speaking of OA, are they EVER going to release their Winter CHA collections? UGH. Get with it.

My next layout comes all the way from last summer! It is two photos from my husband's bachelor party that I knew I wanted to get in a scrapbook. It is such a cute picture of Ryan and then a great group picture.

I looked in my stash for lots of grays, whites, and blacks and found all of these goodies! I also used some of the die cuts from the Pink Paislee collection.

I cut the stars out on my Cameo and outlined ...everything! :) Thanks for checking out my pages and your sweet comments!

Our Crazy Love

I was able to get 8 layouts done last Friday and Saturday when I scrapbooked with my mom and aunt. It was so fun! I love doing that.

This layout today comes from inspiration by Corrie Jones on Two peas in a bucket. One of her prompts was to cut your own die cuts. I followed her prompt and inspiration from her layout and cut my own hearts! I love how real and hand cut they look instead of all looking so perfect! I also used all washi tape to create the background... no pattered paper layers.. can you believe it?!

I had a hard time coming up with a title for this because well, you know ;) I used pink and turquoise as accent colors and just dug through my stash to find stuff that worked!

It is one of my favorite layouts lately! I think I would like to replicate it for another layout. Different pictures always makes a layout look different! Thanks for looking! :)

Shine & Swagger

OK .. So I just LOVE this photo! My photographer snapped a few good shots of this "pose," but this one is by far my favorite. All the guys' faces are just priceless. Sure makes me wish I could go through my wedding day again! :)

This photo is 10x10 and what is nice about it ...  I didn't order it like that! After we got all of our professional photos back (and the copyright), we put all of the photos into Shutterfly books. Eight of them... 12x12 books... about $50 a book... you do the math! We did it when they were 40% off around Christmas, but it still was spendy.. but SO worth it! Who knows if I will ever scrapbook all the photos or even half of the photos, but at least all of the photos will be in books so that they can always be easily looked at!

Well.. this photo actually comes from one of those Shutterfly books. One of the books we received had two ink splatters on two different pages. I contacted Shutterfly and they sent me out a new book! What else would I do with the "ruined" book but cut out some of the pictures and use them on scrapbook pages.. right?!

I love this page! I knew there was not going to be much for layering like I usually do, but I wanted to have three embellishment clusters. I stitched in purple around the outside because it went with the turquoise that I used throughout the page and it was my wedding color. I figured I wouldn't be using purple much at all in my wedding photos because well, let's face it, purple isn't used much in scrapbooking!

And Elle's Studio tag is always a good addition to a page!

And a mix up of alphas! I have to say that I just LOVE that Lullaby font and color of Thickers AND I am running VERY low on them! :( A few pieces of washi tape and some gems and this layout was finished! Thanks for looking!

Scrap Your Story - This is Forever

Its Friday! Another reveal day at Scrap Your Story! The challenge this week is to use any sort of embossing on your layout! It can be dry or heat embossed.. just use embossing. To be honest.. it scared me! I have a Big Shot with some embossing folders and I have ink, a heat gun, and one little thing of embossing powder. Safe to say that I usually only use the embossing folders if I make cards (which isn't much) and I never use the embossing powder!

I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to try out the embossing powder on a scratch piece of paper. It worked well! I have seen a lot of heat embossing in the scrapbook world lately and I would like to get more into it. I think I am going to order some of the American Crafts Zing embossing powders so that I have more fun colors to choose from! :)

The only powder I had was a silver which I thought would go well with this wedding photo of mine. I used February's Studio Calico kit to create this layout and I used an older studio calico heart arrow stamp to create the embossed arrows!

Here is a close up of the embossed arrows, as well as my layers and clusters.

I think that it turned out well! Be sure to play along with the challenge this week!

Today Starts our Forever

As promised, another Scrapbook Circle layout! I sure was on roll yesterday and got three layouts done! I used another photo from our wedding and got this one done in about an hour. That is some kind of record for me! :)

This kit is full of the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection and again I was able to use a lot of the kraft/gold,teal/blue/yellow color combination! I love that! I really like the "Love This" file folder that came with the kit. It is from the Alison Kreft Sweet Notes collection by Webster's Pages. I do need to get my hands on more of that collection! :)

Once again I used the Amy Tan stitching template to create that arrow! I wish I would have had a darker blue floss, but this works I guess!

And to finish it off with a date stamp and an enamel dot of course!! :) Thanks for stopping by and all of your super sweet comments on my layouts lately. I really do appreciate them all! Have a great week!

I Do It For You...

Thanks everyone for all of your wonderful comments on my new blog design and my layouts. I really appreciate it!

I did a fun layout today that I did following a challenge at Elle's Studio. I really love Elle's Studio and need to play along with their challenges more often. For this challenge, all I needed to do was scraplift one of the design team's layouts and use Elle's Studio product.

I used the new Glitz Madly in Love collection (can't get enough of it) and 4 Elle's Studio tags. Three of them are from their latest collection, You and Me and the "this moment" tag is one I've had in my stash for quite some time.

The photos are of my husband and I during our first dance. I love them. The title is based on our first dance song, which was "Everything I Do, I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams. When we got engaged I told Ryan that he could choose the song for our first dance and after a few days, this is what he told me he wanted. I giggled a little because it is kind of a cheesy love song, but it really meant a lot to me because he picked it out . :)

Here is a close up of two of the Elle's Studio tags as well as an American Crafts heart clip that I picked up at Target!

Lately I have really enjoyed hand stitching on my layouts! I love how the big heart looks in the background.

And of course.. I had to add some enamel dots! :) And here is the layout that I scraplifted from Elle's Studio design team member Sarah Webb.

Scrap Your Story - All We Need is Us

Here I am with my first post for the Scrap Your Story Challenge Blog!  There will be a new challenge posted every Friday and at the end of the month you will have a chance to win a prize for every layout that you submitted that month! One entry per week.

This week the challenge was to use only one photo. Well, anyone who knows my style, knows that this was an easy challenge for me! I chose a photo of my husband and I on the beach in Playa Del Carmen back in December of 2011. I used the Nantucket collection from Pink Paislee and did a lot of layering behind the photo to bring focus to the photo.

I also threw in some goodies from Studio Calico and Lilybee Design and added some mist in the upper left corner and lower right corner to draw your eye across the page.

Here is a closeup where you can see the layers. I hope you are inspired by my layout and this week's challenge at Scrap Your Story! Be sure to play along to earn a chance at a great prize. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thickers, Thickers, and more Thickers!

I have a very lovely layout to share with you this afternoon! I will start out by saying I got the great inspiration from Paige Evans, Garden Girl at Two Peas in a Bucket. The challenge was for the Scrap your Stash challenge to use your Thickers for a long title. Paige also used the Thickers in a heart shape, and if any of you pay attention to my layouts, I LOVE hearts.. so I had to do the same!

I have slowly been starting to scrap some of my wedding photos. As of now, I am not doing an official album or anything, just scrapping them as I feel like it. I have over 2,000 photos, so I will never scrap them all. This layout consists of one professional photo on the bottom by Behind the Lens Photography and then the top shot was snapped by Ryan's cousin.

This LO was tons of fun to create. I came up with the Bible verse that I wanted to use (btw, I ended up adding 1 Cor 16:14 underneath the black wood veener heart, I forgot!) and then found enough Thickers to use a different one for each word. I used a lot of the new Glitz Love You Madly collection. I love the colors in it!

Some close ups. Please ignore my giant piece of hair in the photo. As you can see I used the Glitz heart washi tape.

I tried digging back into my stash of stickers on this page. I kind of hoard the 12x12 sticker sheets and I need to be better about using them. It seems as though they are all very versatile and you can always fine something to go with something else! On this page I used some from the Everyday Eclectic collection by Echo Park and from last year's Valentine's Day collection by Jillibean soup. They were the perfect colors!

And finally... those adorable little punched hearts! Yesterday when I was at Mike's I found a cute MS punch for 30% off that does the punching on these hearts anywhere on the page! I had to have it!! Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

More Layouts from the weekend

Here are the final 3 layouts that I did over the previous weekend! I really like this first one and it has a lot of meaning. It has to do with the fact that as much as Ryan and I want to have a baby soon...we are going to miss this stage of our life that we are in and we need to cherish it! Lately I have been loving the light blue/turquoise color and it worked well on this page!

Once again I used mists as a pen and I just LOVE how it turns out! I used some more elements from the Scrapbook Circle Only You kit, as well as some from my own stash.

This last page was a quick and easy page, but fun too! I used the Midway collection by October Afternoon! I fussy cut all of the arrows and other fun elements from the 8x8 paper pack. TFL!

A Scraptastic Weekend!

heehee :) Just a dorky play on words! My mom came up to my house (she lives about an hour south from me) and stayed over night on Friday evening. We scrapbooked Friday evening and Saturday morning. I was able to get five layouts finished! Tons of fun! I am glad I am able to share that with my mom :)

The first layout that I completed, I used the Scrapbook Circle "Only You" kit. I was hoarding that background Glitz paper.. I actually have another one of it, that I am sure I will also hoard :) Did you know that Target is carrying some American Crafts supplies? I got a very cute Valentine's 6x6 pad, a roller date stamp, and a package of those cute heart paper clips that is shown on this LO!

The next layout that I completed, I struggled with and I still don't like it! I was able to use the new MME My Girl collection! It is such a cute collection, I wish I would have had a better turn out on my page!

The Perfect Couples

Hello! I just finished up preschool screening that I do every other Friday. Oh it is just so fun to see those little kiddos!! :) I can't wait to have one of my own.

This is a LO that I finished up early last evening. I was on a roll yesterday! One of my good scrappy friends, Ashley, made a comment on one of my blog posts that I need to be on a design team. I agree! I would really love to be on one! Hopefully sometime in the near future I could try out for one. I just love creating and with all the neat new products, it makes it so easy!

I made this LO with a little bit of the Scrapbook Circle kit and a little bit of the Studio Calico add-on kit. They worked well together! I am usually not a fan of Basic Grey, but they came out with those adorable white/pink/gray chipboard letters, as well as those cute pink and grey block letters. They have them in a few other colors as well and Studio Calico has seemed to put them in all of their recent kits.

I also did one of the CHA '13 challenges at Two Peas to use 8 different items from your stash. Puffy sticker, stamps, enamel dots, letter stickers, chipboard stickers, wood veneer, cardstock, and patterned paper.

Aren't these fun photos from our friends' wedding 3 weeks before ours?! We were in their wedding and they were in ours! SO much fun! TFL!

Sweet Addy

I just love being able to craft during the day, but I am also thankful that I have a registered nursing job as well as sub school nursing and substitute teaching! I got another LO done today! :)

The base of this LO started with the color of the year, emerald. It is the color challenge at Scrapbook Circle right now. The best way to go was to use the large arrow sheet from Crate Paper that came in the kit. I can honestly say that the emerald is not a color that I would use right away, especially as my background, but I do like the way it turned out.

I started by adding the gold washi tape to spice up the background and then added all the other goodies. Isn't this a beautiful photo of my flower girl? TFL!

Love Her

I am so impressed with how quickly I put together this LO. I used a Scrapbook Circle sketch and some inspiration from one of the Two Peas garden girls to start with a blank slate and to get messy with mists! I made the heart background by taking the nozzle off of the mists and drawing with them! I just love how it turned out and I will probably do it again sometime soon!

I used the "Only You" kit from Scrapbook Circle! It is adorable! The only thing that I didn't use from the kit were the mists, turquoise thickers, Pink Paislee heart mistable, and stamps. It is a super fun kit to work with! TFL!

All is Bright

I was able to sneak in another layout today. I love this line from MME, All is Bright. So much I named the page after it! I had my final family Christmas at our house on Saturday and got this awesome picture of my niece and I. I had to scrap it right away! :)

I used the current sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches. I loved that it had the hexagons. I can safely say that I am still *NOT* over that trend. :) One of the CHA '13 challenges at Two Peas in a Bucket was to use three current trends. I went with the hexagons, word bubbles (cut on my Cameo), and the wood veneers.

This past summer I bid for an old Creative Memories two sizes hexagon punch. This is the FIRST time I've used it and it came in super handy! 4 of the hexagons on the page are actually from the MME All is Bright sticker sheet, but it is hard to tell. TFL!

The Christmas season is here!

I have two LO's to share with you today! The first is of a photo of Ryan and I at our family Christmas last evening. It turned out super nice and I wanted to scrap it right away! I used lots of the embellies and stickers from the December Scrapbook Circle kit and then I used papers from the OA Holiday Style collection. I used my Cameo to cut the title. Like I've said before, I love all the gold out there right now and I even used it to match my shirt! :)

The next LO is a wedding layout of my flower girl and junior bridesmaid. Aren't they adorable?! I used a lot of the Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection - it is such a fun and versatile collection. I also got into using the gold again! I really like that gold diagonal washi tape! TFL!

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

My first Christmas Layout of the season! I used this month's kit from Scrapbook Circle and went to town! I used my Cameo to make my title. I have wanted to do the negative title with another paper underneath it for so long, but haven't been able to until I got my cameo! The Cameo has really added to my scrapbooking! I love it!

This photo was taken on Sunday evening after I got home from work. We had our first blizzard of the season this past weekend and got about 14 inches of snow! I love it! We are set to get more snow this weekend. Fine with me :) It is beautiful.

I am just LOVING the MME enamel dots. I wish I could just have thousands of those in many different colors! They are so cool! I am also loving all the gold out there right now! TFL!
