"Happy Day"

This page came together SO quickly which is really exciting when I really have no inspiration. STILL using pieces from my February Scrapbook Circle kit! TFL!

"So Special"

I actually really like how this LO turned out! Not a lot of layering like I usually like, but it is still pretty cute. I did some fussy cutting which I love to do! TFL!

2 Recent Layouts

Gosh! I have just been so busy lately and I am only about to get more busy! Over the past week I was able to get the following two LOs in. I still have a lot of work to do on Megan's book before her grad party in the middle of June.

The first LO I really like, although it is a pretty bad photo. I used the current Creative Scrappers sketch and some of the new Bella Blvd baby girl line.

This second sketch is for Ashley's Sketch It Out May challenge at ClubCK! I wait all month for her sketches, but then I did not do it until the middle of the month! Ha! TFL!

Thinking*Through*Design

Well, I have failed to mention that I am one of the Thoughtful Girls on the new Design blog Thinking*Through*Design! Our first design challenge was posted on Thursday as well as my first assignment which focused on analogous color! The nice thing about this challenge blog is that it helps you work through your LOs -- why you are doing what. Kind of neat!

Check out the full first post and the other girls' reveals! Be sure to play along with the challenge too! We want to see your work too!

Here is my LO with my "thought" on the process of making an analogous color LO! TFL!

My Thoughts: The analogous color assignment scared me a little because I have never used the color wheel much. I thought the best way to do it would be to put some of the colors in a wheel form on my layout and utilized the ever so trendy star burst pattern. In the star burst pattern and throughout the layout I added dark blues, royal blues, light blues, and turquoises to span the "blue" portion of the color wheel. To top it off and add one more analogous color, I added the bright green behind the photos and a few pieces of bright green washi tape.

"You smile brightens my day"

I did this LO for the Bird is the Word challenge to use the word "Smile." I really like how it turned out! TFL

"Surfs Up Dude!"

I had these cool photos of Megan surfing and used the new Fancy Pants line Wave Searcher. I used the latest Creative Scrappers sketch which I was afraid to use at first. My friend Ashley gave me some great inspiration with her LO, check it out! I also participated in the Fabulous Friday challenge at Frosted Designs to use some sort of lacing on your LO. It looks cool! TFL!

"Together"

I don't think I like this page at all, but I tend to just post all of my LOs anyways. I thought these photos of Megan and her parents were so cute! TFL!

"Just My Type"

I thought that this Sweet and Sour line by Jillibean Soup was perfect for these pictures of Megan. Megan is blind and has always been using some sort of computer. You could totally call her a computer geek and she is OK with it! TFL!

"My favorite"

Amy Tan. Sketchbook. Enough said. I love it! I love her stuff! It is by far my favorite collections ever! I just love bright stuff!

Anyways, I completed this page for Megan's book using the NSD challenge at Studio Calico to "Go Graphic." I thought this would be a perfect LO for that with all of the circles that I was using. I also worked on on making my own embellishments. There is one company that makes those cut up circle flowers with the brad in the middle and I just figured it would be easy to do myself! TFL!

"I love my Cousins"

I did this cute LO for the My Mind Eye's challenge right now to use brads in a "different" way. I can honestly say that I have never used brads as corners like I did on the tag on this LO! It looks nice though. I used a lot of different MME papers -- my faves! I also fussy cut the little circle flowers underneath the butterfly on the tag for the current challenge over at ScrapFit. I did not fussy cut a lot on this one -- but I fussy cut! I love to fussy cut! Some papers are just screaming "Fussy cut me!"

All of my products on this LO are MME except for the Elle's Studio "treasured memories" tag, the AC ribbon, and the AC thickers. TFL!

Mother's Day Blog Hop Winner!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my wall hanging for the blog hop! I sure do appreciate it.. all the time! The random winner of a small scrappy prize was MELISSA JOHNSON! Congrats!!

"Giddy Graduate"

Another LO for Megan's book using this month's kit from Scrapbook Circle! The kit isn't as exciting as the last couple month's kits have been, but it is still packed with goodies! It is actually taking me out of my comfort zone of bright colors and patterns -- which is good!

This is the NSD sketch from Creative Scrappers! It was a great sketch! TFL!

"One Happy Family"

I got in another LO today! It is so nice to just sit down and scrap and not have to worry about hurrying up to go to work! This one isn't very exciting, but it did take awhile to get my chevron figured out! TFL!

"School Days"

Luckily, Studio Calico is so generous and is leaving their challenges open through may 13th. It is so nice for those people like me who could not spend the entire weekend scrappin'!

I am not really a fan of this LO, but I had to do something with all of these cute "first day of school" pictures of Megan and I found this cute sketch on Studio Calico! There was also a challenge to use multiple photos on your LO -- So this worked well!

I have ordered some Studio Calico kits before and I really like them, but now I am seriously contemplating becoming a member of the kit club. I am already a subscriber of Scrapbook Circle kits and I will continue to be for sure. Can anyone give me some advice on the Studio Calico kits? The only thing that is holding me back is the expense. If you are a member, the monthly kit is about $30 and shipping is like $8 or $9. If I spend $75 worth in kits then I can get free shipping. I think $8 is a lot for shipping so in my opinion, you might as well spend the $75 per month and get more kits... But.. then that is $75 a month you are spending. Any thoughts? Thanks!

"Sweet Carol Lee"

Well, yesterday was national scrapbook day and I did not get to scrapbook :( Of course this is my weekend to work and we had to do some wedding errands yesterday morning. I was able to get one LO in today before I head off to work though! I did some challenges at Studio Calico. One was a sketch challenge (awesome sketch) and the other to use confetti! I love this awesome trend and I have already used it on a few LOs! Thanks for looking!

Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mother's Day Blog Hop! I am playing along with some of the wonderful ladies from ClubCK and of course Amanda has once again organized it. Thanks Amanda!

You should have arrived here from Adele's Blog ... If not, head back to the start at Amanda's Blog!

This hop obviously focuses on MOM! I am not a mom yet, but I am sure excited to be one someday soon. Until then and forever after, I will spend mother's day honoring my own mom (and my fiance's).

I always give my mom home made gifts because I know that she really appreciates them. She doesn't care how much money I spend and she knows that just starting my career - I don't have much.

I thought this was such a cute project! I found this super cute wood hanging and I thought I would doctor it up with some awesome October Afternoon Sidewalks goodies! I used the saying "You are my sunshine" because my mom would always sing that to me and my sister when we were younger. I will never forget that. It was a vinyl rub on that filled the hanging perfectly. I made all of my photos black and white for a more uniformed look and added yellow twine to allow it to hang.

This one that I am showcasing is for my mom, but of course I made one for myself too! I just haven't found photos for it yet. I hope you enjoy!

Leave a comment, and if you'd like, become a follower for a chance at a small prize.

The next stop in the hop is Christy's Blog!

**While you are hopping along, be sure to check out the new design challenge blog, Thinking*Through*Design. It is sure to be a great place for scrapbookers of all kinds to showcase their work learn more about this wonderful hobby!

"Giggle, Mom!"

I love this page that I did today, but I had awesome inspiration. I scraplifted a LO by 4noisyboys from ClubCK. I had this photo strip from Megan's box of photos and converted it from color to black and white to fit the color scheme better. I am so in love with black, gray, and yellow! I even went out of my comfort zone and did some doodling (and tracing) with the flowers. TFL!

"Its a Magical World"

I was having a very hard time as I was making this LO. I thought for sure that I was going to hate it when I was finished, but it isn't so bad. Definitely not one of my favorites though! The sketch is the May sketch from Artful Delight. Once again, I waited too long and the Artful Delight kits are all sold out. I have been eyeing them up for so long. I really need to order one sometime. Enjoy! TFL!
