August Blog Hop!

If you did not arrive to my blog from Cassie's Blog please return to Amanda's Blog to follow the hop in order.

Welcome to the August Blog Hop put on by the wonderful ladies at ClubCK! For this hop we each created a layout based off of a sketch that Amanda created. To be honest, the day that I worked on this I was not very inspired by the sketch. Had I just left it and come back to it another day, I probably would have been much more inspired. Just one of those off days... we all have those, right?! :)

I took the sketch and made it very simple. I kept the two photos, but made them a little crooked. I used a background paper to ground the photos and then I kept the borders at the bottom. Instead of putting the title on the top, I just added it to the left side. I LOVE the Fancy Pants papers (Its the Little Things) that I used for this LO. I have used them on a lot of LOs and even have recently bought more!

My layout turned out very plain and simple, but I think it still gets the message across. :) Thanks for hopping along with me!

Please go toSteffanie's Blog blog to continue!

If you'd like to be entered in the prize for the entire hop, after you've completed a layout based off the sketch, return to Amanda's Blog to add your link!

Our Little Monkeys

This page was made for my Stampin' Up demonstrator. She has recently adopted two children and we did a zoo theme and got them a season pass to the MN Zoo. I used the Create a Critter and Zooballoo cartridges. I also entered it in the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use animals on your LO! TFL

Mutton Bustin'

This sketch is from Creative Scrappers Sketch #169! I chose to use pictures of my nephew (to-be) riding a sheep at the rodeo last year -- which is called mutton bustin'. Remember I am from a redneck Minnesota area. All the kids who want to line up and they put them all on top of sheep and you see how long you can stay on the sheep! It is quite entertaining! TFL!

Into the Blue

I am very happy with this LO. I used the current Sketchy Thursday sketch and almost all the elements that I used are from this month's Scrapbook Circle kit You are my Sunshine. The photos are from last Labor Day weekend when we spent the weekend up north in Duluth. We went down by the shore of Lake Superior and the kids started skipping rock.. pretty soon all of us were! These photos worked well with the Sassafrass papers. I also used this LO to do a challenge for CK's summer camp. The challenge was to use coffee filters on your LO. I spray misted them with blue and yellow mist and pleated them by the photo!  TFL!

You Are My Sunshine

I love this page for some reason. I did it for ClubCk's Summer Camp to use a song lyric on your page and add layering. My layering is a cardboard piece, paper, doily, stickers, and the photo! I used the new Amy Tangerine line. TFL!

IV Play Rocks

This is a sketch from Sketchabilities and I mixed it up a little and added another photo. These were pictures from Paddlefish Days last summer and watching IV Play at the street dance. TFL

I Won the Parent Lottery

This is a Sassy Lil' Sketches sketch. Instead of 2 pics, I added one more. I also did it for the Scrappin' Chics Challlenge blog to use pennants or a border on your LO. I had a lot of fun with this LO and the Bella Blvd papers! The pictures were taken when my family went out for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary last fall. I am so proud of them! TFL!

Close Friends

I did this LO for this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch! I also did it for a weekly challenge on ClubCK to do journaling that goes into the title! I like the way it turned out! TFL
