2 more layouts to share

Hello all! I hope you had a great weekend, I sure did! This morning I had a THIRD interview for the place that I would LOVE to work. She said that she was very impressed with my experience, our meeting today, as well as what everyone said about me last week... So I am hoping that means good things! She said they will let me know by the end of the week. I can't wait!! Ugh!

Anyways, here are two layouts I did a couple weeks ago!

This layout was from a Creative Scrappers sketch that I never got around to entering! I used a lot of Amy Tan Plus One as well as some of her Sketchbook collection since they go so well together! :) This is a different kind of layout for me, but I really like how it turned out!

I put together this layout very quickly of my husband and my niece. I love to scrap those two! I used papers from the Maggie Holmes Flea Market 6x6 pad and some goodies from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by! Keep your prayers coming! THANK YOU!

I Love U

I am here today with a layout I created for the Hip Kit Club layout challenge. The challenge was to use their inspiration mood board. I used the I <3 U poster from the mood board and a layout by Ashley Horton.

I have been saving that Elle's Studio paper for quite some time and found those black Thickers in my stash. They were all falling off the sticker page so I thought it would be a good font that I had to use almost every letter of the alphabet from!

The patterned paper that I used was scraps from my stash. I used the new Elle's Studio stamps and lots of enamel dots!

The red Thickers are a newer set from a Christmas collection.

The photos were from my husband's 30th birthday party. Thanks for looking!

From Happiness to Heartbreak

This layout was extremely hard for me to do. The design was easy, but the courage it took to write down my feelings was very hard. I wanted to make a design in which I had a lot of room for journaling and thought that a heart that was going off the page would be perfect. A heart because it symbolizes love and the sunburst that shows that even though going through this rough time, the sun is still shining in our lives.

I used teal, black, white, and gray for my color scheme and I love it! I cut the heart out with my cameo and made the lines for where I wanted the sunburst pieces to go. Then I traced them onto the patterned paper I wanted to use and then glued it all down to a piece of cardstock! I sewed around the heart with black floss to emphasize it. I found some gray and black scraps of paper and layered the beneath my photo along with an Elle's Studio tag and washi tape. For the title I used the new alphas from Elle's Studio and some older ones from Jenni Bowlin.

I stamped an embossed a heart from the new Elle's Studio Love You More stamp set and used an arrow paper clip to point towards the title.

I used two of the die cuts from the Studio Calico Print Shop collection.

Thanks for looking and for your comments. This page means a lot to me and I am glad that I did it. I am back to work tomorrow!

Glow of Christmas

Here I am with a fun Christmas layout featuring photos of my darling niece and a sketch from My Scraps and More.

I didn't like how stark white plain the background was with all of the photos and layers focused towards the bottom, so I added all of the watercolor marks using my red and gold gelatos! I love how it turned out. I used papers from the Studio Calico Christmas line, which I fell in love with right away (and I normally don't like their Christmas lines). I finally opened up the Maggie Holmes overlay frames and used two of them on this page. They have been sitting in my stash for TOO LONG!

I cut my title using my Silhouette Cameo. I originally just had the one layer of the gray, but it was blending in too much so I added the red background to it to make it stick out more. I LOVE those wood veneer stars from Studio Calico and embossed them with gold embossing powder.

I added some sequins and washi tape to finish it off! I also used a roller date stamp for the current challenge at Scrapbook Circle. Something I use all the time!

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Lovely Moments

Back again with another wedding layout. Once again I am using up old collections! This one is using Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic. I used to buy every collection and practically the entire collection from Echo Park and now I hardly buy any. I do still like them lots though!

Thanks for looking and your great comments!

Dress Yourself in Love

I am going to keep plugging away at all of these wedding layouts! I had these cute photos of 3 of my bridesmaids helping me put on my wedding gown and they were black and white photos. I am loving the look of gray/white/black with one other color and turquoise is really hot right now! I was able to use the super fun Heidi Swapp transparent letters and the Amy Tan transparent letters.

I love layouts like these where I just pick a color scheme because I just go through and get out lots of different products that might work on my layout and end up using a whole different array! Its so fun!

Amy Tangerine, American Crafts, Echo Park, and Jillibean Soup to name a few! I do really like how this page turned out. Another wedding page done! I am actually really enjoying scrapping them, which I didn't think I would!

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your great comments! :)

Scrap Your Story - Luckiest People Alive

Good morning! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Mine will be spent at work for 36 hours! Yay, not!

Be sure to play along with this week's challenge at Scrap Your Story! It is a fun and easy one. This week the challenge is to STAMP! I'll admit... I really didn't use stamps at all until the fun roller date stamps came out and now I use them ALL the time!

For this layout I used the super fun Everyday Eclectic collection by Echo Park. I have just had it sitting around for a LONG time and finally pulled it out to use it! I love the colors and all the fun elements it comes with. I used my [many] roller date and phrase stamps around the outside of the starburst and I also used the "true story" stamp from Studio Calico. Definitely an easy way to get stamping on the page!

I had some fun with my title work and I even found those adorable little crocheted flowers in my stash! I love using up old stuff!!

You are able to see my stamping better on the close-ups! Be sure to play along this week at Scrap Your Story! :)

Two Layouts to Share

I am back! It has been a few days since I have posted. I worked my weekend this past weekend where I work 9a to 9:30p Fri - Sun and I have worked each day since as well, so I have not had much time! :( I have tomorrow off, so I am excited about that!

I have two layouts to share today. The first is a photo of my cousin and I from my wedding. I took a photo with each of my bridesmaids like this so I am going to scrap each one so that I have each one in my scrapbook! I used the April Scrapbook kit and played along with the challenge, Springtime Hues. It sure wasn't hard with the kit!

Here are some close ups:

I filled the Amy Tan die cut with MME enamel dots and added some Echo Park stickers. The smaller letters in the title are Studio Calico and October Afternoon. Speaking of OA, are they EVER going to release their Winter CHA collections? UGH. Get with it.

My next layout comes all the way from last summer! It is two photos from my husband's bachelor party that I knew I wanted to get in a scrapbook. It is such a cute picture of Ryan and then a great group picture.

I looked in my stash for lots of grays, whites, and blacks and found all of these goodies! I also used some of the die cuts from the Pink Paislee collection.

I cut the stars out on my Cameo and outlined ...everything! :) Thanks for checking out my pages and your sweet comments!

Our Crazy Love

I was able to get 8 layouts done last Friday and Saturday when I scrapbooked with my mom and aunt. It was so fun! I love doing that.

This layout today comes from inspiration by Corrie Jones on Two peas in a bucket. One of her prompts was to cut your own die cuts. I followed her prompt and inspiration from her layout and cut my own hearts! I love how real and hand cut they look instead of all looking so perfect! I also used all washi tape to create the background... no pattered paper layers.. can you believe it?!

I had a hard time coming up with a title for this because well, you know ;) I used pink and turquoise as accent colors and just dug through my stash to find stuff that worked!

It is one of my favorite layouts lately! I think I would like to replicate it for another layout. Different pictures always makes a layout look different! Thanks for looking! :)

Melts My Heart

It really does. Seeing my husband play with our niece melts my heart. It makes me so excited for when we have children. He is SO good with kids. My niece was afraid of any man.. except her dad and my husband. There is just something about him.

I captured this picture of Ryan and Alaina on Easter and it perfectly shows their relationship with each other. I used the current Scrapbook Circle kit and played along with their challenge right now to use something "clear." That was easy since the kit provided those super cool Heidi Swap letters AND those neat transparency type thingies!

I have been stitching like a crazy woman on my layouts lately and I really like it! I am annoyed with that arrow stitching template from Amy Tan though... see how crooked it is at the tail of the arrow? Yeah, that isn't user error.. that is the template!

I've wanted those speech bubble wood veeners from Freckled Fawn for soooo long and they finally came in the Scrapbook Circle kit! Super happy about that! AND ... this is an instagram photo so I can link it up for the instagram challenge at Paper Issues!

I like to try and mix up my journaling so it always doesn't look the same. Hope you enjoy and thanks SO SO SO much for all of your sweet comments. They always make my day.

Shine & Swagger

OK .. So I just LOVE this photo! My photographer snapped a few good shots of this "pose," but this one is by far my favorite. All the guys' faces are just priceless. Sure makes me wish I could go through my wedding day again! :)

This photo is 10x10 and what is nice about it ...  I didn't order it like that! After we got all of our professional photos back (and the copyright), we put all of the photos into Shutterfly books. Eight of them... 12x12 books... about $50 a book... you do the math! We did it when they were 40% off around Christmas, but it still was spendy.. but SO worth it! Who knows if I will ever scrapbook all the photos or even half of the photos, but at least all of the photos will be in books so that they can always be easily looked at!

Well.. this photo actually comes from one of those Shutterfly books. One of the books we received had two ink splatters on two different pages. I contacted Shutterfly and they sent me out a new book! What else would I do with the "ruined" book but cut out some of the pictures and use them on scrapbook pages.. right?!

I love this page! I knew there was not going to be much for layering like I usually do, but I wanted to have three embellishment clusters. I stitched in purple around the outside because it went with the turquoise that I used throughout the page and it was my wedding color. I figured I wouldn't be using purple much at all in my wedding photos because well, let's face it, purple isn't used much in scrapbooking!

And Elle's Studio tag is always a good addition to a page!

And a mix up of alphas! I have to say that I just LOVE that Lullaby font and color of Thickers AND I am running VERY low on them! :( A few pieces of washi tape and some gems and this layout was finished! Thanks for looking!

Matchbook Mini

A couple weeks ago, Kristina Nicolai White posted a tutorial on Two Peas in a Bucket on how to make a Matchbook Mini. I was hooked! I thought it was the cutest little mini book ever, and I had to make one! Now that I've made one... I have to make more! Not long after she posted the video, my mom told me that she wanted me to make her another mini book... Oh all right! :)

Just like the example, I mostly used the Amy Tangerine Yes, Please collection with other little tidbits! :)

The book contains pictures of my family. As you can see, my almost 8 month old niece makes it onto all but one page :)

This type of mini book is so easy and quick to make! All of the pages are stitched together with a sewing machine. I used washi tape to cover up the stitching.

The only page without a baby.... how long will that last??? ;)

Amy Tan's lines are just so versatile! There are also so many other lines that match with it as well. This  two pages use Amy Tan, Bella Blvd, Glitz, and MME!

This is my favorite page. Makes me smile! :)

This is actually the second page, but it got out of order! I love that you can see the other pages behind it.

And the very back of the mini book with a note to my parents.

I hope you have enjoyed and you are inspired to create a Matchbook Mini! They are really fun to create :)

Mexico 2011... Project Life style!

News Flash.... I am finished scrapping photos from our 2011 family trip to Mexico!! Yay!!!! I did about 10 12x12 full page layouts and the rest of the photos I scrapped using the Project Life format. It was SO much easier to get all of those photos scrapbooked. It would have just taken up too much time to do all 12x12 pages! I love this!

This was the title page I used to open up to the Mexico pages! I just have my Mexico pages in a book with the rest of the stuff in time around it!

I used my Cameo a lot on this page and added fun little bits here and there.

We took quite a few of the "professional" pictures while we were in Mexico (where a photographer comes around and takes photos and you can buy them -- for a huge price). Turns out I bought some ..so it was nice to be able to put them in the protectors this way!

The photo of Ryan and I in the scuba gear was a very big photo.. almost 8x10 and I just cut it down to fit.

This format made it SO EASY to get these pictures scrapped.. and I love how it looks!

More large photos that was easy to put in these Stampin' Up page protectors.

I have been using my Amy Tan stitching templates and I love them! :) I also found some free printables that I am really enjoying too!

And the last page!

This was a lot of fun to do! I have my honeymoon photos to Cozumel all scrapped because I made a mini book, but I will totally do this in the future with other vacations, in addition to mini books. I also tend to add in 12x12 pages as well! Think about doing this sometime.. it is a time saver and fun! :)
