Keep me in your Heart

Good morning! Today I am sharing a layout that I created using a sketch from Elle's Studio. I kept the basic concept of the sketch, but kind of went off on my own as well.

I used quite a few elements from the Elle's Studio Love You More collection including two stamps and the frame, note card, word snippets, and teal heart. Oh! And their new alphas! I keep forgetting about those. I used papers from the Pebbles and Crate Paper Valentine's lines. I cut the background paper (Amy Tan) with my Silhouette to be able to layer the hearts underneath the paper and then pop some up on top of the paper with pop dots.

The title comes from that little Pooh quote - "If ever there comes a day that we're not together, keep me in your heart and I will stay there forever." I absolutely love it. I love those pink Thickers too -- and they come with HEARTS! Very cool.

I found some embroidery floss and ripped it all apart to make a cluster underneath one of the Elle's tags and threw some enamel dots in there as well. I still had those Pink Paislee mistable hearts sitting out from my last project so I found a place for it on this layout too! Great way to use up my stash.

I added another embroidery floss, tag, and enamel dot cluster and outlined the entire page with my black marker, as well as used the neat heart/arrow stamp from Elle's Studio on each side of page. Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Handsome Groomsmen

Here is a layout from my wedding album with one of my favorite photos of the guys! They just look so good-looking and tough!

There isn't much to this layout, but it was a fun one to make! I took the photo from a Shutterfly book that came ruined with ink inside and matted it on some Echo Park Paper. I tore the edges of a white piece of cardstock and added it to an old piece of Pink Paislee paper. I did some outlining and found some old Thickers that had just the right letter left over! I googled a cool font to cut on my Cameo and added the fun stars! Thanks for looking!

Life is Beautiful - Scrap Your Story

This week's challenge at Scrap Your Story is to use a starburst/sunburst effect somewhere on your layout! This was easy for me as I am loving that effect on my layouts right now. I have done a layout with the stitched sunburst before, but I think it is timeless!

I got to use this adorable photo of my niece and this bright and beautiful collection from Echo Park. It all came together so nicely!

That cute little dear is from a Basic Grey die cut pack that I though when along cute with this page. I just stamped "remember" on it.

Be sure to play along this week at Scrap Your Story!

My Best Girls by my Side

I wanted SO bad to make a layout with each one of these awesome photos of my gorgeous bridesmaids! I used Photosheet to make them small and all fit onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet. I love that application! I love doing the grid style with lots of photos. I just love how it turned out!

I used the lovely Yes, Please collection by Amy Tan and went to work embellishing the page!

Lots of enamel dots and stickers from the Amy Tan collection

I put the girls' initials on each of their pictures. Just something to add to each picture.. and to use up those thousands of letter stickers that I have!

A Few of My Favorite Things and Kalahari

I am going to share two layouts with you today before I go off to scrapbooking! The first one I created for Mercy Tiara's challenge on YouTube to create a layout about your favorite scrapbook things. Well, I just took a picture some of my goodies piled high on my desk and called it good. If I added all my favorite things to that picture, well.. it wouldn't all be in one picture!

I used Amy Tan's Yes Please collection and went to work! In the journaling I wrote that I love the creative outlet that scrapbooking brings me and I love all the cute supplies as well! Some of my favorites are my Cameo, patterned paper, enamel dots, and roller date stamps. I didn't even mention Thickers and wood veneer! The list could go on and on...

I love those fun Thickers and I used an old stitching template from Bazzill to create those stitched letters!

This next layout I created on a whim one night when I had a free hour. I put it together so fast! I just cut up strips of Amy Tan paper and put it all together!

It was one of those layouts where I just could NOT come up with a title so I just went with a really generic one. That works sometimes, right?

Lots of layering behind the photo as always and a wood veneer arrow to top it off! Thanks for looking and for your great comments!

Scrapbook Circle Challenges

I have two layouts to share today! Both are for challenges over at the Scrapbook Circle blog! I know I've said it before.. I love Scrapbook Circle! It is hard to believe, but BOTH of these layouts are from the current  Scrapbook Circle kit! The SAME kit!

This first challenge is to mix up patterned paper! Sometimes it is hard for me to mix patterned papers from different collections and other times it is easy! The papers in this month's kit made it pretty easy!

I really like how this page turned out! It was fun to do the paper tearing and the cut on my Cameo. I went through my stash and picked out some embellies in the colors of the patterned papers. And again, I love that MS punch that makes those cute hearts! :)

And oh my goodness.. those Maggie Holmes bows! ADORABLE! I can't believe I hadn't bought those before! I am so glad they came with the kit so I got them! :)

This one is the current sketch challenge. I stayed pretty true to the sketch. I used lots of goodies from the Fancy Pants Trend Setter collection. The kit came with some goodies, but I added a lot from my stash as well.

I love when I can get more than 2 pictures on a page! Those cute little baggies came with the kit. I used one to house my hidden journaling. Here are some close-ups and the sketch by Diana.

Scrap Your Story - Fling before the Ring

I'm back! What is the challenge this week at Scrap Your Story, you ask? JOURNALING! At least 2 sentences of journaling. Usually, that is no problem for me. When I started scrapbooking how many years back.. I was only 13. Journaling? No. Writing under a picture saying who the person was? Yep.

Rewind 5 years ago. Journaling? Still no. I wouldn't even think to put my thoughts and feelings down on my layouts. I didn't think it was needed. Today. YES YES YES. I even wish that I would journal on my pages more than I do now. I usually have about 2 sentences or so and get the "jist" written down, but sometimes I feel like I am not even telling enough. Yes, there are the pictures to help tell the story, but I want to know that someday I will have the whole story. Am I the only one who feels like this?

I also tend to say a lot of my "true feelings" in my journaling that I may not say to someone's face... or at least not often enough. I really do want those people to know how I feel. :)

On to my layout... There is nothing special about this layout as it is just documenting a bachelorette party. I do have to say though.... This layout is the first time in a LONG time that I actually ripped up something and started over! The white background paper is totally different than it started. I had misted on it as well and it just didn't "go," so I started over with a new piece.

Surprisingly, I have been having a hard time working with Amy Tan's Yes, Please line. Not the embellishments.. but the papers. I feel like there are too many weird pinks, oranges, and blue/greens that just don't always fit together right. I have never felt that way about any of her lines! It is probably just me.

I used the Amy Tan stitching templates again, which I love! Thanks for looking and be sure to play along with the challenge this week at Scrap Your Story! :)

Scrap Your Story - Home Run Love

I'm back with another challenge at Scrap Your Story! This week's challenge is a sketch challenge .. and a great sketch!  I stuck fairly close to the sketch, but instead of circles I used hearts!

These are photos from our wedding day. We stopped at the ball park and took a few photos! It is hard to see, but our wedding party is in the stands cheering us on in both of the photos! :)

I have been doing lots of hand stitching again lately, which I love! I also used Glitz Madly in Love on this page.

And here is the sketch! Be sure to play along at Scrap Your Story for a great giveaway!

Matchbook Mini

A couple weeks ago, Kristina Nicolai White posted a tutorial on Two Peas in a Bucket on how to make a Matchbook Mini. I was hooked! I thought it was the cutest little mini book ever, and I had to make one! Now that I've made one... I have to make more! Not long after she posted the video, my mom told me that she wanted me to make her another mini book... Oh all right! :)

Just like the example, I mostly used the Amy Tangerine Yes, Please collection with other little tidbits! :)

The book contains pictures of my family. As you can see, my almost 8 month old niece makes it onto all but one page :)

This type of mini book is so easy and quick to make! All of the pages are stitched together with a sewing machine. I used washi tape to cover up the stitching.

The only page without a baby.... how long will that last??? ;)

Amy Tan's lines are just so versatile! There are also so many other lines that match with it as well. This  two pages use Amy Tan, Bella Blvd, Glitz, and MME!

This is my favorite page. Makes me smile! :)

This is actually the second page, but it got out of order! I love that you can see the other pages behind it.

And the very back of the mini book with a note to my parents.

I hope you have enjoyed and you are inspired to create a Matchbook Mini! They are really fun to create :)

Mexico 2011... Project Life style!

News Flash.... I am finished scrapping photos from our 2011 family trip to Mexico!! Yay!!!! I did about 10 12x12 full page layouts and the rest of the photos I scrapped using the Project Life format. It was SO much easier to get all of those photos scrapbooked. It would have just taken up too much time to do all 12x12 pages! I love this!

This was the title page I used to open up to the Mexico pages! I just have my Mexico pages in a book with the rest of the stuff in time around it!

I used my Cameo a lot on this page and added fun little bits here and there.

We took quite a few of the "professional" pictures while we were in Mexico (where a photographer comes around and takes photos and you can buy them -- for a huge price). Turns out I bought some ..so it was nice to be able to put them in the protectors this way!

The photo of Ryan and I in the scuba gear was a very big photo.. almost 8x10 and I just cut it down to fit.

This format made it SO EASY to get these pictures scrapped.. and I love how it looks!

More large photos that was easy to put in these Stampin' Up page protectors.

I have been using my Amy Tan stitching templates and I love them! :) I also found some free printables that I am really enjoying too!

And the last page!

This was a lot of fun to do! I have my honeymoon photos to Cozumel all scrapped because I made a mini book, but I will totally do this in the future with other vacations, in addition to mini books. I also tend to add in 12x12 pages as well! Think about doing this sometime.. it is a time saver and fun! :)

Scrap Your Story - This is Forever

Its Friday! Another reveal day at Scrap Your Story! The challenge this week is to use any sort of embossing on your layout! It can be dry or heat embossed.. just use embossing. To be honest.. it scared me! I have a Big Shot with some embossing folders and I have ink, a heat gun, and one little thing of embossing powder. Safe to say that I usually only use the embossing folders if I make cards (which isn't much) and I never use the embossing powder!

I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to try out the embossing powder on a scratch piece of paper. It worked well! I have seen a lot of heat embossing in the scrapbook world lately and I would like to get more into it. I think I am going to order some of the American Crafts Zing embossing powders so that I have more fun colors to choose from! :)

The only powder I had was a silver which I thought would go well with this wedding photo of mine. I used February's Studio Calico kit to create this layout and I used an older studio calico heart arrow stamp to create the embossed arrows!

Here is a close up of the embossed arrows, as well as my layers and clusters.

I think that it turned out well! Be sure to play along with the challenge this week!
