From Happiness to Heartbreak

This layout was extremely hard for me to do. The design was easy, but the courage it took to write down my feelings was very hard. I wanted to make a design in which I had a lot of room for journaling and thought that a heart that was going off the page would be perfect. A heart because it symbolizes love and the sunburst that shows that even though going through this rough time, the sun is still shining in our lives.

I used teal, black, white, and gray for my color scheme and I love it! I cut the heart out with my cameo and made the lines for where I wanted the sunburst pieces to go. Then I traced them onto the patterned paper I wanted to use and then glued it all down to a piece of cardstock! I sewed around the heart with black floss to emphasize it. I found some gray and black scraps of paper and layered the beneath my photo along with an Elle's Studio tag and washi tape. For the title I used the new alphas from Elle's Studio and some older ones from Jenni Bowlin.

I stamped an embossed a heart from the new Elle's Studio Love You More stamp set and used an arrow paper clip to point towards the title.

I used two of the die cuts from the Studio Calico Print Shop collection.

Thanks for looking and for your comments. This page means a lot to me and I am glad that I did it. I am back to work tomorrow!

Best Flower Girl Ever

Here I am today with a layout inspired by Garden Girl Paige Taylor Evans. I just love her style and how she is SO good at piecing together paper. Love her style!

I used the Lucky Charm collection and that super fun silhouette cut! I am still loving the Lucky Charm collection although I am sad that I am running out of many of the papers!

I found those brown glitter thickers in my stash that worked well for this page. There wasn't much for brown in the papers, but I added it anyways!

I am really loving all of my wedding layouts that I have been doing. I thought I would hate them all and get sick of them right away, but since I have been going with my own style and not sticking to any colors or themes, it has made it very easy! Who says a wedding album (or albums in my case) needs to have all the same colors and papers?! That would be boring.. IMHO.

Added some Studio Calico potty people! I am so excited for tomorrow! I have the full day off work and I just got a huge box of goodies from A Cherry on Top FULL of Crate Paper goodness and lots of other fun stuff! Off to work I go today though. Have a great day!

The Christmas season is here!

I have two LO's to share with you today! The first is of a photo of Ryan and I at our family Christmas last evening. It turned out super nice and I wanted to scrap it right away! I used lots of the embellies and stickers from the December Scrapbook Circle kit and then I used papers from the OA Holiday Style collection. I used my Cameo to cut the title. Like I've said before, I love all the gold out there right now and I even used it to match my shirt! :)

The next LO is a wedding layout of my flower girl and junior bridesmaid. Aren't they adorable?! I used a lot of the Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection - it is such a fun and versatile collection. I also got into using the gold again! I really like that gold diagonal washi tape! TFL!

To be Thankful...

There has been a lot of challenges focusing on gratitude and being thankful.. which is great! I have now done two in a row and used the same Elle's Studio "Thankful" tag on both! I didn't even know I had two of it! :)

This LO is based on a challenge at Scrapbook Circle and uses the current scrapbook circle kit, Harvest Moon. The challenge was to use the quote, "It is not happy people who are thankful, but thankful people who are happy." Great quote and so true! Instead of doing a Thanksgiving layout, I did a Mother's Day LO! This photo is of my mom, my sister, and I on Mother's Day 2011. TFL!
