Scrap Your Story - Fling before the Ring

I'm back! What is the challenge this week at Scrap Your Story, you ask? JOURNALING! At least 2 sentences of journaling. Usually, that is no problem for me. When I started scrapbooking how many years back.. I was only 13. Journaling? No. Writing under a picture saying who the person was? Yep.

Rewind 5 years ago. Journaling? Still no. I wouldn't even think to put my thoughts and feelings down on my layouts. I didn't think it was needed. Today. YES YES YES. I even wish that I would journal on my pages more than I do now. I usually have about 2 sentences or so and get the "jist" written down, but sometimes I feel like I am not even telling enough. Yes, there are the pictures to help tell the story, but I want to know that someday I will have the whole story. Am I the only one who feels like this?

I also tend to say a lot of my "true feelings" in my journaling that I may not say to someone's face... or at least not often enough. I really do want those people to know how I feel. :)

On to my layout... There is nothing special about this layout as it is just documenting a bachelorette party. I do have to say though.... This layout is the first time in a LONG time that I actually ripped up something and started over! The white background paper is totally different than it started. I had misted on it as well and it just didn't "go," so I started over with a new piece.

Surprisingly, I have been having a hard time working with Amy Tan's Yes, Please line. Not the embellishments.. but the papers. I feel like there are too many weird pinks, oranges, and blue/greens that just don't always fit together right. I have never felt that way about any of her lines! It is probably just me.

I used the Amy Tan stitching templates again, which I love! Thanks for looking and be sure to play along with the challenge this week at Scrap Your Story! :)

You are my Happy Place

I just love the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm line. I need more of it. Much more. I always said that Amy Tan Sketchbook was my favorite line ever, but Lucky Charm has definitely taken its place!

Here is another 6 months photo of my niece, Alaina. Lucky Charm was perfect for this adorable photo. All the colors go together so wonderfully. Yes, it is true.. I really need to purchase more Lucky Charm.. I am running out!

Some close ups of the embellishments. I cut the "Happy Place" die cut so that it was smaller in order to fit how I wanted it to and then used some of the small alphas on the sticker sheet to make my title. Enjoy!

This is another layout that I did when I scrapbooked with my mom and aunt 2 weekends ago. I am almost done sharing all of them! :)

After doing this layout, I realized I HAVE to get more of the Maggie Holmes collection. All I really got of it was the 6x6 pad and whatever came in my kits. I need more. Especially of this awesome woodgrain paper. It goes GREAT with many of my wedding photos.

This layout is based on a layout created by Missy Widden! I loved her page and I knew it would work well with my photo. I still love her layout much more, but mine turned out pretty good! :)

Some close ups showing the awesome Thickers, cut out from that super cool wordy Maggie Holmes paper, and of course a wood veneer! Thanks for looking!

Baby Got Back

Literally. Cutest. Baby. Badonkadonk. Ever. :)

I love this photo and I love this little girl! I decided for this layout that I wanted to get together as much pink stuff as I could! I have a mix of both old and new patterned papers as well as the new triangle mask from Studio Calico. I then used black elements in a few paces throughout the layout to add another color to the mix!

I just can't get over how cute she is. And look at those thighs! Sigh.. adorable. :)

The "pretty girl" sticker is from the AC My Girl collection and the dark pink flowered sticker is from Amy Tan's Sketchbook collection. I used Heidi Swapp Primrose for the misting.

Annnd my FAVORITE thickers.. The black journal font. Love them. I need to get more of them! Thanks for looking and your wonderful comments! :)

Full of Sweet

I have an adorable layout to share of my adorable niece. I am going to say right out.. I did NOT come up with this idea! Corrie Jones made a layout like this and I fell in love with it. I knew it was the perfect and ONLY way that I wanted to use that cute mason jar paper by Dear Lizzy. I couldn't resist.. I had to scraplift! :)

I started with a blank white slate (something I do so often now), misted a little Mr. Huey's Custard, and then fussy cut all those cute mason jars. I then placed them on my page where I wanted them and started embellishing the jars and around my photo. I added stitching, stamps, wood veneers, and stickers. The letter stickers are even super old! If you haven't realized yet.. I get SO excited when I use stuff from my stash. Maybe it lets me justify buying new stuff? :)

Addition of the jouranling in one of the mason jars of course! Thanks for looking! :)

I Love Being Yours

I am here today with challenge #44 at Challenge Me Happy. It is a sketch challenge and I stayed pretty true to the sketch. I had this photo of Ryan and I on our wedding day that always makes me smile. My photographer caught a lot of moments like this where we were just being ourselves. Love it.

I used pieces of  the current Scrapbook Circle kit as well as other bits from my stash. I even used FIVE RUB ONS on this layout!! So exciting to use stuff from my stash :)

Thanks for looking! I still have lots of layouts to share from my scrapbook weekend last weekend with my mom. :) TTYL!

Always Friends Forever

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!  I just love my weekends off and I always dread the next weekend that I have to work. I am hoping to scrapbook a little today, but first I am going to share a layout that I did on Friday.

Originally I did this layout for the challenge at Elle's Studio to use a large photo. I have a lot of large photos to use from our wedding. Some of them just look better big! Then I realized that I didn't use any Elle's Studio products on the layout, so I probably shouldn't link it up.

I am pretty happy with myself because I used papers from the MME line, Indie Chic that I have NEVER touched! I also used some from The Sweetest Thing as well. I also used older letter stickers. The only new things that I used was the enamel dots and Webster's Pages note cards.

And a close up of the title treatment! I used my Cameo to cut "always." Thanks for looking! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

Scrap Your Story - Better than This

Another challenge at Scrap Your Story. Have you been playing along? The challenge this week is to STITCH somewhere on your layout. Any kind of stitching! This was easy for me because I have been stitching on my layouts like a crazy woman lately! :)

Now..I am sure you all are thinking.. "hey, she did one like that already!" Yes, I already did a large photo layout and I framed it with stitching... BUT I think it is the best way to showcase these big photos! I didn't think there was much else for me to add besides the stitching, title, and pennants and I am okay with that!

I love this photo. I love, love, love it! My wedding party was so awesome. I love them all so much. This is such a fun photo and shows everyone's personalities!

Some fun Heidi Swapp mistable stars to top it off! :) Be sure to play along this week at Scrap Your Story! :)

Our Crazy Love

I was able to get 8 layouts done last Friday and Saturday when I scrapbooked with my mom and aunt. It was so fun! I love doing that.

This layout today comes from inspiration by Corrie Jones on Two peas in a bucket. One of her prompts was to cut your own die cuts. I followed her prompt and inspiration from her layout and cut my own hearts! I love how real and hand cut they look instead of all looking so perfect! I also used all washi tape to create the background... no pattered paper layers.. can you believe it?!

I had a hard time coming up with a title for this because well, you know ;) I used pink and turquoise as accent colors and just dug through my stash to find stuff that worked!

It is one of my favorite layouts lately! I think I would like to replicate it for another layout. Different pictures always makes a layout look different! Thanks for looking! :)

Melts My Heart

It really does. Seeing my husband play with our niece melts my heart. It makes me so excited for when we have children. He is SO good with kids. My niece was afraid of any man.. except her dad and my husband. There is just something about him.

I captured this picture of Ryan and Alaina on Easter and it perfectly shows their relationship with each other. I used the current Scrapbook Circle kit and played along with their challenge right now to use something "clear." That was easy since the kit provided those super cool Heidi Swap letters AND those neat transparency type thingies!

I have been stitching like a crazy woman on my layouts lately and I really like it! I am annoyed with that arrow stitching template from Amy Tan though... see how crooked it is at the tail of the arrow? Yeah, that isn't user error.. that is the template!

I've wanted those speech bubble wood veeners from Freckled Fawn for soooo long and they finally came in the Scrapbook Circle kit! Super happy about that! AND ... this is an instagram photo so I can link it up for the instagram challenge at Paper Issues!

I like to try and mix up my journaling so it always doesn't look the same. Hope you enjoy and thanks SO SO SO much for all of your sweet comments. They always make my day.

Scrap Your Story - Home Run Love

I'm back with another challenge at Scrap Your Story! This week's challenge is a sketch challenge .. and a great sketch!  I stuck fairly close to the sketch, but instead of circles I used hearts!

These are photos from our wedding day. We stopped at the ball park and took a few photos! It is hard to see, but our wedding party is in the stands cheering us on in both of the photos! :)

I have been doing lots of hand stitching again lately, which I love! I also used Glitz Madly in Love on this page.

And here is the sketch! Be sure to play along at Scrap Your Story for a great giveaway!

Here I Go

I have been meaning to play along with the sketches at Elle's Studio for quite some time. Last Thursday I was able to start a layout using their sketch and I was FINALLY able to finish it today. I didn't get quite as much time to scrap today as I would have hoped since I ended up having to work over half of the day.

Anyways... I used an Elle's Studio sketch and quite a few of their tags. It was hard for me to use so many on a page because I covet them so much! I don't want to use them all up!

To be honest, I like the top of the page, but not the bottom! Here are some close ups.

That sun and clouds was not complete without some stitching! I also used some Panda Eight Flair!

Thanks for looking! Here is the sketch!

Happy Memories

I am FINALLY back today with a new layout to share! I am beat! I worked 55 hours the last 5 days, so I am ready for a day off tomorrow! Then I have another 12 hour shift and I have the weekend off where I will be going to my mom and dad's to scrapbook with my mom and aunt! Yay!

I created this layout for a challenge at Two Peas in a Bucket to use a mask and then trace over it. I had this fun Studio Calico mask that I had bought when it first came out in January, but had not used it yet. I used a lot of Amy Tangerine and just started layering! I also linked it up for the challenge going on at Paper Issues to use INSTAGRAM photos!! I love instagram. #addicted. :) Be sure to head over to Paper Issues and check them out!

Scrap Your Story - Hippity Hop!

Have you been playing along with the challenges at Scrap Your Story? This week's challenge is an EASY one! We challenge you to make a layout about anything SPRING! Spring colors, spring pictures, spring events, anything spring!

I decided to work on this challenge right after Easter, so I had a good amount of photos to work with! I decided to use this ADORABLE picture of my niece with all of her Easter goodies (most of which mom and dad will partake in). We let her dig through her big Easter basket and she found that huge chocolate bunny that she has her mouth on. I tried pulling it away from her.. well, she pulled harder! She held onto it so hard that when I would pull it from her... I would practically pull her bottom off the ground because she was pulling it so hard too! So cute.

First off, this layout is based on a wonderful sketch by my friend Missy Whidden. She has been offering up quite a few sketches lately and I have been loving using them! I stayed close to her sketch, as well as her layout inspiration. I used the March Scrapbook Circle kit and added a few of my own bits and pieces. How cute is that little Easter bunny?!

I love all the new Thickers that they are coming out with. I wish I could have them all! To do the stitching I used a Bazill stitching template that I bought probably 3 years ago. I am proud of myself for using an old supply!

This LO uses lots of Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm goodness as well as some Alison Kreft! TFL! Be sure to play along this week!

Shine & Swagger

OK .. So I just LOVE this photo! My photographer snapped a few good shots of this "pose," but this one is by far my favorite. All the guys' faces are just priceless. Sure makes me wish I could go through my wedding day again! :)

This photo is 10x10 and what is nice about it ...  I didn't order it like that! After we got all of our professional photos back (and the copyright), we put all of the photos into Shutterfly books. Eight of them... 12x12 books... about $50 a book... you do the math! We did it when they were 40% off around Christmas, but it still was spendy.. but SO worth it! Who knows if I will ever scrapbook all the photos or even half of the photos, but at least all of the photos will be in books so that they can always be easily looked at!

Well.. this photo actually comes from one of those Shutterfly books. One of the books we received had two ink splatters on two different pages. I contacted Shutterfly and they sent me out a new book! What else would I do with the "ruined" book but cut out some of the pictures and use them on scrapbook pages.. right?!

I love this page! I knew there was not going to be much for layering like I usually do, but I wanted to have three embellishment clusters. I stitched in purple around the outside because it went with the turquoise that I used throughout the page and it was my wedding color. I figured I wouldn't be using purple much at all in my wedding photos because well, let's face it, purple isn't used much in scrapbooking!

And Elle's Studio tag is always a good addition to a page!

And a mix up of alphas! I have to say that I just LOVE that Lullaby font and color of Thickers AND I am running VERY low on them! :( A few pieces of washi tape and some gems and this layout was finished! Thanks for looking!

I will Always be there for You

I am back for another layout to share today! Today my layout takes inspiration from the 213 in 2013 TwoPeas video posted on Monday. Two of the prompts were to cut a die cut and to use bokeh on your layout.. so I did both!

I used the Boy Crazy line from MME and cut out the fun colored arrows to put randomly throughout my page. I used gray mist from OA to make the bokeh effect on the right side of my layout. I also used the sketch made by the wonderful Missy Whidden. Be sure to check out her blog!!

Here is a close-up of the layers and fun embellishments! Thanks for looking!
